The Great Mojado Invasion

DOCUMENTARY SHORT

The Great Mojado Invasion, Part II

Director: Gustavo Vazquez
and Guillermo Gómez-Peña
Filmmaker in person
Prepare yourselves. The Second US-Mexico War is at hand:  "Finally, the uncensored version of the director's cut of the Chicano sci-fi classic banned in 69 festivals," 500 years in the making from Pre-Contact to the Birth of the Barrio State, as related to us by the Vato Vizier of the Border Vortex, Guillermo Gomez-Peña. Without question the most deliciously outrageous film in the entire festival, this incendiary little package (a reedited, re-mastered edition of the cult video classic by filmmaker Gustavo Vasquez and writer-performance artist Gomez- Peña) does come with a warning label:  THE GREAT MOJADO INVASION II "contains x-plicit images and language which may be hazardous to your identity and nationality."  But what we want to know is, from what archive did they get this archival footage? (2001, 26 min.) NOTE: Please be aware that this film is for adults only, rife as it is with profane language, nudity and, most dangerous of all, incisive cultural critiques.
Showing: May 19, 6pm, Matheson
